Job Posting: Payroll Analyst at UW Health

We are seeking a Payroll Analyst to:

·Plan, perform, audit, and analyze operations and physician payrolls.

·Monitor and analyze UW Health benefit plans and system budgeting.

·Assist in and lead the payroll processes for UW Health.

Education:

Minimum - Associate degree in Business, Accounting or related field. Two (2) years of payroll or accounting experience may be considered in lieu of the degree in addition to the experience below

Work Experience:

Minimum - Three (3) years accounting or payroll experience with general ledger software systems, database, spreadsheet and word processing software

Preferred - One (1) year of payroll or financial experience in a health care field

Licenses and Certifications:

Preferred – Payroll certification desirable.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

·Ability to work independently and as a team to complete work with minimal supervision

·Ability to prioritize and work under pressure sufficient to meet deadlines

·Able to concentrate as demonstrated by a high degree of accuracy entering data

·Ability to diplomatically handle communications in potentially stressful situations

·Strong organizational and customer service skills

·Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile multiple data sources

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.  Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, 1.0 position that is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours may vary based upon the needs of the department.

KI is seeking a Payroll Manager for our Corporate office in Green Bay, WI. This position is responsible for strategic, tactical, and operational oversight of payroll operations. This position also is responsible for preparation, documentation and disbursement of payroll along with supervising the payroll team and ensuring payroll is delivered timely, accurately and efficiently each payroll cycle. In conjunction with management and Human Resources, this position participates in establishment and maintenance of incentive compensation plans and other compensation related benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Management & Supervision (40%) 

    • Participate in setting the strategic direction of the department

    • Cross-train to insure no gaps in service

    • Train and mentor staff

    • Be a trusted liaison on personnel matters including adherence to corporate policies, conflict resolution, disciplinary action and employee recognition

    • Set and communicate individual staff performance expectations and periodically review actual performance against expected performance

    • Act as an ambassador for our culture of value integration and continuous improvement

  • Payroll Administration (40%)

    • Recommends, develops and implements changes to processes, procedures and workflows, leading to greater efficiency and accuracy throughout the payroll operation

    • Responds to and manages all inquires relating to payroll and payroll systems; acts as the main point of contact for payroll, and interacts seamlessly with key stakeholders and partners

    • Coordinates all activities relating to year end processing impacting employees

    • Acts as a liaison between the organization and our 3rd party vendors, to ensure all teams are aligned as it relates to payroll processing, time keeping administration, and related activities

    • Manages the Corporate Payroll team to ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of the organization's payroll, tax and deductions, incentive compensation, and retirement plan contributions

  • Month-end Close / Financial Reporting / Budget / Audit (10%)

    • Oversee and/or participate in activities related to payroll and compensation

  • Financial Advisory Services (10%)

    • Utilize business insight to impact, influence and support business partners across the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

  • Minimum 7 years experience in a similar position

  • Experience leading, mentoring, and managing a payroll team in a corporate environment required

  • Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce systems a plus

  • Must be customer-focused, results-driven leader with emphasis on quality, detail and accuracy

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred

Payroll & Benefits Specialist - Adv


The UW-Madison Office of Engineering Professional Development is looking to fill a Payroll & Benefits Specialist-Adv position. This is a full-time ongoing, University Staff benefits eligible position. The starting salary will be based upon the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience but will be no less than $17.25/hour.

Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for initiating and processing payroll, coordinating benefits, and related operations. This position works directly with EPD staff regarding their payroll and benefits questions and collaborates with the College of Engineering's Human Resources office. It will also partially support accounting functions.

 

Our office is located in the Extension Building, at 432 N Lake St., near State St.
